Savvas_Xiros
Savvas Xiros (Greek: Σάββας Ξηρός; born November 30, 1962) is a Greek terrorist and member of Revolutionary Organization 17 (N17). He was arrested on June 29, 2002, at the Piraeus port after a bomb exploded in his hands. He was put on trial in 2003. He was convicted of life imprisonment for murders, robberies, explosions and participation in N17.[1]

Σάββας Ξηρός: Η έκρηξη της βόμβας στα χέρια του εκείνο το ζεστό καλοκαίρι του 2002 στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά δεν είχε μόνο ως αποτέλεσμα το ξεδόντιασμα της «17 Νοέμβρη», αλλά προκάλεσε και τον σοβαρό τραυματισμό του. Από τότε ζει με πολλά προβλήματα υγείας, καθώς βλέπει με μεγάλη δυσκολία και γι' αυτό τον λόγο βρίσκεται στο νοσοκομείο των Φυλακών Κορυδαλλού. (Εχει καταδικαστεί σε πέντε φορές ισόβια και 25 χρόνια κάθειρξη.) Στο πλευρό του βρίσκεται πάντα η Ισπανίδα σύζυγός του Αλίθια Ρομέρο Κορτές, με την οποία συνομιλεί καθημερινά και για πολλή ώρα στο τηλέφωνο, κάνοντάς της ακόμη και μαθήματα αγιογραφίας διά τηλεφώνου, αφού η ίδια ασκεί πλέον το επάγγελμα της αγιογράφου. Ο ίδιος ασχολείται εντατικά με τα μαθηματικά, έχοντας γράψει και βιβλίο σχετικό με τη συγκεκριμένη επιστήμη. Μάλιστα το 2015 λόγω των σοβαρότατων προβλημάτων υγείας που αντιμετωπίζει είχε τη δυνατότητα να ενταχθεί σε πρόγραμμα κράτησης κατ' οίκον με ηλεκτρονική επιτήρηση («βραχιολάκι»), ο ίδιος όμως το αρνήθηκε επικαλούμενος και τα θρησκευτικά του φρονήματα.
