Template talk:2020–21 Serie A table

Points Per Game

Hi @Sakiv:. I'm a bit new to the Wikipedia world. If I wanted to add a PPG column to this template, similarly to how the table in 2019–20 Ligue 1 has been formatted, how would I go about that? I think that it's an informative stat, especially for comparing team performance across leagues - specifically Bundesliga, where the season is 34 games to Serie A's 38. It would be great if we could integrate it. Thanks in advance! Tjbakerscala (talk) 18:22, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello @Tjbakerscala: I think that would be redundant and out of the ordinary.--Sakiv (talk) 20:41, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply @Sakiv:! Do you see utility in being able to compare team performance across leagues? I might be a frog in hot water and not realize that my stat interests are maybe more detail oriented than the casual fan haha. Would there be a downside in adding the column? Cheers! @Tjbakerscala: Yes, I find it slightly useful, but the column should be added to the overall table. The first criteria to determine a team's position is the points and then the goal difference not points per game. Thanks for your enthusiasm.--Sakiv (talk) 22:44, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Thank you haha. I'm a big football fan. Maybe I misunderstood your response, but what do you mean by "the column should be added to the overall table?" I am looking to add a PPG column to the overall table, to the right of the Points column. Tjbakerscala (talk) 00:34, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
@Tjbakerscala: The overall table refers to a ranking of every team that has played in the league. I searched but could not find an overall table for Serie A clubs. If you want, you can make an overall table containing all clubs like the tables of La Liga and Premier League. For the source see.--Sakiv (talk) 00:59, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv:I think that you are referring to an All-Time league table? That's definitely a worthwhile project that I'll look into for Serie A. But, for clarification, we don't have consensus for featuring a PPG column in this particular template? Tjbakerscala (talk) 01:47, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
@Tjbakerscala: I don't think so, if we add this column then we have to apply it to other leagues as well.--Sakiv (talk) 01:50, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
@Sakiv: Thanks for your patience and for the discussion! Tjbakerscala (talk) 02:09, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
