Kievan Rus' and Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia

Kievan Rus' and Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia? Ostap 17:22, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Done today by IP-editor, unfortunately Glebchik undid it right away without giving reasons; I made some adjustments to the IP's work to make the template in line with Template:Capitals of Russia. Cause making Kievan Rus' a predecessor to current Russia and not to current Ukraine looks idiotic to me since the people in it where neither. — Mariah-Yulia  Talk to me! 23:40, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Renaming

Здесь есть статья и про УССР, и про Украину, а в шаблоне вроде закономерно упоминаются оба понятия./And what do you suggest, I didn't understand? Here we have articles on the Ukrainian SSR and Ukraine, and both terms seem to be reasonably mentioned in the template.--Microcell (talk) 18:53, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
--TarzanASG (talk) 13:07, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Crimea

Should we include Crimean Khanate here, I think it would make sence.Ivan2007 (talk) 08:21, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Current Template

I'm happy with how the template turned out ! — Mariah-Yulia  Talk to me! 14:38, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

The template is stupid. It does not mentioned Rivne, Odessa, Kamyanets-Podilsky, and many other cities that served as a capital. Hlukhiv was never the real capital, for example. It was chosen by Skoropadsky when practically the Cossack's sovereignty was lost after the Poltava's tragedy, and, mainly, because there was a big Moscow's garrison. Therefore, since 1708 Hetmanate as a political entity did not exist, Hlukhiv is a joke of a capital. On its territory was formed the Kiev Governorate. Also Zaporizhian Host for whatever reasons is not included. Just because it was totally annihilated by the Russian and Soviet governments, it does not mean that it never existed. Zaporizhia was an autonomous entity even during the Cossack Hetmanate and later a buffer state that was finally sacked together with the Crimean Khanate. I do not think it is important to include all the capitals, but rather to identify the biggest cultural centers such as Lviv, Kiev, Odessa, Baturyn, Nikopol region, Bakhmut region. All these Stanyslavivs, Chyhyryns, and Luhansks are definately out of place. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 15:25, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Mariah-Yulia could you, please, comment on my proposition from four years ago? I think we need to rename the template to "Historical centers of the Ukrainian statehood". We also need to reconsider few of the political entities such Donetsk-Krivoi Rog republic as it was not recognized by anyone. Or we should include the Odessa Republic and Makhnovite Movement (maybe). What about the Cold Ravine Republic (Kholodnoyarska Respublika)? There also was the Soviet Halychyna which was centered in Ternopil. What about all the siches (Zaporizhian Sich) that existed throughout Zaporizhian history? Do we need to include the temporary capitals or cities that housed the Ukrainian governments in exile Saratov, Kursk, Munich and others? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 05:13, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
