Shoreham

Is Shoreham named Brighton here for a reason? Pterre (talk) 13:40, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

The two original coal-fired power stations were known as Brighton A and Brighton B power stations, whereas the modern gas-fired station is known as Shoreham power station. Fintan264 (talk) 15:02, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

I think it would be useful for this template to link to the other UK regional power station navigation templates, e.g. template:South West powerstations. I'm not sure though what the best way to include these links would be on the template.

Obviously it would be best if all the templates had such links, so if there is a central project that manages them then please note this proposal there. Thryduulf (talk) 21:38, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking of the same thing the other day. Ideally, it would be good if the map (currently only used in the north east and yorkshire templates) could be used to link to other navboxes. I have no idea how this is done, but I'm sure I've seen images linked to various places before. Oh and there isn't a central project. I've dabbled with the idea of proposing a 'UK power stations project' but I thought it was too specific, and would take up too much time if successful. Fintan264 (talk) 22:03, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
That would be good if it was clear that the map could be clicked to view the other templates, so perhaps in combination with text links? I don't know how it is done, but I've seen clickable maps as well - I'll have a think about where as they'll probably include pointers to instructions. Thryduulf (talk) 23:05, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Why make life complicated? All it needs is a link to Energy in the United Kingdom on each template and for that article to list the national or regional templates. Ben MacDui 09:33, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
While a link to that article might be good to have, it does not link to power station articles and thus is not useful for navigation between articles about individual stations. Better would be a link to List of power stations in England (or Wales, etc, as appropriate), but that list is organised by type and so isn't perfect. Perhaps what we need is a List of power stations in the United Kingdom by region to link to. Thryduulf (talk) 18:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
