The #Leaders section started with the list of Resistance leaders mentioned in the Jean Moulin article as being leaders of "movements" and "networks" within the resistance. I think it's impossible to add a "members" section, because there are hundreds of names which could be added (see Category:French Resistance members). I'm considering the possibility of adding a "#Members" section to at least link to articles about some of the most important members, but not sure if we can define a criterion to keep the list reasonably short (a dozen, or two max) while not seeming completely arbitrary.
Looking for feedback on whether a "#Members" section would be an improvement; can we rely on consensus to see who should be included, or would it just lead to arbitrary inclusions or removals and more trouble than it's worth? Based on experience with the history of Template:Holocaust France, I think it should be achievable. Mathglot (talk) 22:46, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

- Hm. I'd really like to get Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in a "prominent members" list, as he was both a Major in the Free French Air Forces, flying sorties over North Africa, as well as active in the United States during the period he lived there, trying to get the United States to render support, and to enter the war. A good technique for finding articles about the French Resistance that haven't been translated yet, is to use the wmftools "not in other lang" feature. This link locates articles in French category Résistance française that are not on en-wiki. For that search, the problem is that there are far too many, because editors at fr-wiki have tagged many hundreds of Resistance members for that category, making it difficult (but not impossible) to page through hundreds of results to find good candidates. (The 100th article in that alphabetized list, is in the middle of the 'A's: Alfred Péron.) One trick is to add a "starts with" argument; for example, adding "starts with: 'Comité' " yields these results, which might offer some possibilities. Another, is to start with a French category that is (hopefully) more limited in scope, such as for example, Catégorie:Cameroun français. If you start with that, you get 20 results, one or more of which might be a candidate for the Nav template, for example #17 Ralliement du Cameroun à la France libre, or if not, could be a good candidate for translation into an article on en-wiki. Currently a red link in the label column, the article for it is currently being developed, and could use your help. Please contribute at Draft:Clandestine press of the French Resistance. In the main section on the right, there are currently seven red nav links. Almost all of these will turn blue as soon as the Draft is released to main space, via section redirects into that article, which hopefully will be expanded into stand-alone articles, eventually. - Since the release of the Draft as the article Clandestine press of the French Resistance, the label column link s now blue. Am thinking of having a second column label, so that 'Leaders' can then divide into 'Civilian' and 'Military'. This is partly because I'd like to include links to General Leclerc (Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque) and Jean de Lattre de Tassigny in the table somewhere, and there doesn't seem to be a good place for them right now. It's ironic that MOS:FLAGRELEVANCE was linked as a reason to remove it from the template, even though this isn't an article, and so that guideline probably doesn't apply here. But if one believes it does apply and you follow that guideline, then it actually does support the inclusion of the flag, using the Tampa example which says: "the flag of Tampa, Florida, is appropriately used on the Tampa article". If the MOS section applies to templates at all, then it applies as much to this one, as it does to the Tampa article, and for the same reason. I've restored it to the template.
