This navbox is titled "Units of information", so surely it should include the nat and the ban, which are listed along with the bit at Units of information#Primary units. I think, that's a good point. In addition to the nat and ban, the trit should be added as well. However, given that all the other units currently displayed in the template are derived from the bit, I'm not sure if just adding those three to the "Base unit(s)" row would be the best possible solution. Perhaps we could use some color code to indicate, that they are all derived from the bit base unit, not the other ones? --Matthiaspaul (talk) 00:21, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

The name/title of the navbox itself is IMO the problem, not the content. There is a long history of failure to distinguish between information (in the the information-theoretic sense) and storage capacity, which produces unending confusion of the concepts; they're about as different as water and boxes. Mixing units for the two in one template would only serve to perpetuate the confusion. Changing the name as suggested Qwfp would make sense. —Quondum 15:17, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
