Being BOLD and removing incorrect information

Haneullim, Hwanin, and Hwanung do not exist in actual Korean shamanism. Indeed, there is not a single relevant mention of Hwanin or Hwanung in The Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Culture, the definitive and comprehensive tertiary source on the religion. All searches for all orthographic variants of Haneullim on EKFC produce only Confucian or Christian contexts. See also this English-language article, which thoroughly deconstructs the notion that "Haneullim" or "Hanenunim" was a thing in Korea before Christianity. I am thus going to be bold and remove the section entirely, replacing it with a tentative "Beliefs" section.

Again, as Baker shows and as is consensus in Korean scholarship, neither Donghak nor Daejongism (and not any of their many subbranches either) is descended from Korean shamanism. Donghak is monotheistic, which is fundamentally incompatible with Korean folk religion, and Daejongism is centered on Dan'gun-worship. Per EKFC, Dan'gun is marginal in Korean shamanism, and what authority he currently has may be motivated by nationalism—the same nationalism that is the source of Daejongism.--Karaeng Matoaya (talk) 16:04, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
