I am proposing a split between this template and Template:Medical specialities. Template:Medicine should provide a high-quality broad overview of the extremely broad area of medicine. Ophthalmology should fall under surgical subspecialties. Eye surgery is not considered a field of medicine. Ophthalmology is and it is considered a surgical subspecialty. Please see
