Given the election of a mayor for the Liverpool City Region in 2017, which will include Halton, it would seem logical to include Halton Borough Council elections in this template and also rename the template "Local elections in the Liverpool City Region".

I don't think so – the template's big enough as it is. Number 57 11:49, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

I take your point Number 57about the size of the template. Would it be sensible to create a template "Local elections in the Liverpool City Region" as a superset of the Merseyside template? I'm suggesting this for three reasons :

1. Liverpool City Region includes Merseyside with the addition of Halton.

2. The Merseyside Local Election Template currently includes the Liverpool City Region Mayoral Election 2017 which it could be argued is illogical.

3. Merseyside County Council was only in existence from 1973 to 1981, a relatively short period of time.

Alternatively/additionally, would it be better to create "sub"-templates or additional templates for each of the five areas within Merseyside, for example "Liverpool Local Elections" which could be both future and past proof, containing (for example):

1 Liverpool City Council Elections

2 Liverpool Mayoral Elections

3 Liverpool School Board Elections

and in the future :

4 Liverpool Town Council Elections

5 Board of Guardians Elections

6 Parish Council elections

7 Pre 1973 area elections (Wallasey, Bebington, Prescot, Southport, Bootle etc.)

Of course, another alternative would be to consider partitioning by time, such as "20th Centuary Elections"? --Pat.moloney (talk) 10:51, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

The question is whether the Board of Guardians and Parish Council elections (which I assume the Town Council are a form of) would actually be notable. I suspect not (and I wouldn't be surprised to see the School Board elections get deleted if someone took them to AfD). Number 57 21:56, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
