It offers Bachelor's degrees and Associate degrees along with certificate options during the day, evening, Saturday, and online with programs in business, accounting, allied health, digital media and technology.

Accreditation

The College of Westchester is accredited by The Middle States Commission on Higher Education,[2] an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The college has 26 programs registered by the New York State Education Department, including 5 certificates, 11 associate degrees, and 10 bachelor's degree programs.[3]

History

The College of Westchester was founded in 1915 in New Rochelle, New York, as Westchester Commercial School. Its original focus was on business and secretarial studies, offering both day and evening classes. The school expanded in 1959, and moved to White Plains, New York.

In 1973, it changed its name to Westchester Business School (WBI) and earned its first formal accreditation. In 1975, the New York State Board of Regents authorized WBI to offer the Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree.

In 2003, the college changed its name to The College of Westchester and was also granted accreditation by Middle States Commission on Higher Education, a regional accreditor, that same year.[4] In 2008, it offered its first bachelor's degrees, and by 2023, it offered bachelors and associate degrees, and certificates, in business, health professions, and information technology.
