This page provides a collection of awards created by individual Wikipedians. Some of them originated from here, and some of them are copied and collected from various users' pages.

These awards are in addition to barnstars. While barnstars are generally reserved for a long-standing pattern of excellence, the following awards are more often given to honor specific actions or events - or to spread good cheer!

Each award picture will come with a few lines of explanation about who should get this award.

• The Executive Director's Barnstar is given out by Sue Gardner.^{[needs update]} Its purpose is to recognize, celebrate and thank Wikimedians who are making a significant contribution to the projects. • The PSI is awarded to polite, courteous, and helpful users as a blessing for good mental health. Introduced by Psy guy.
• The Crackpot Mouse has been genetically modified to detect hotheadedness, political spin, and crackpottery. He will eat you if you fail to edit with humility, care, and impartiality. Otherwise, he is quite pleasant. Note that the mouse on the right is a trained ninja mouse, tasked to protect newcomers from being bitten.
• A {{WikiCookie}} is a general reward that can be given for a number of tasks, from helping a new user to improvements to an article. First used in this form by Mark.
• The Plenary Indulgence can be awarded to anybody whom you appreciate. Introduced by Essjay and shamelessly stolen by Xiong Chiamiov.
• The Mouldy Sandwich is awarded to those who tirelessly work on bettering Wikipedia. Introduced by Maestrosync.
• The Ed Poor Award is given to those who boldly and humbly help in improving Wikipedia. Introduced by Phroziac.
• The Back Scratching Award is designed to be awarded to any user that a Wikipedian trusts to be an excellent person. If you are awarded this, then it is expected that you reciprocate with a similar award to the giver, thus encouraging a sense of giving by Wikipedia users. Introduced by spankthecrumpet.
• The zOMG star!!! zOMG!!! Introduced by SPUI.
• The Flaming Wiki Award
  Created by Casliber from an image made by Debivort, for Featured Articles listed here. A new use for Wikipedians who've been through wiki-hell was initiated by Gimmetrow in December 2007, and thought a good idea by Casliber too
• The Upholder of Wiki is awarded to exceptional and distinguished contributors on Wikipedia. Introduced by Jcw69.
• The Outspoken Stars are given to users who defend the freedom of political expression in the Wikipedia community, on talk pages and in debates regarding deletion of articles, categories and templates.
  
  This barnstar was introduced on December 25th, 2005 by Larix.
• The Sandwich of Exceptional Excellence The Sandwich of Exceptional Excellence (Potato Salad of Congeniality cluster, 1st. class) In Panis, Veritas. Award created by Hamster Sandwich.
• The Whirly World Award User:Linuxerist introduced this award on March 27, to give to people with a missing barnstar milk carton on their user page. This can be used to say that you believe the user deserves an award.
• Rescue From Deletion Award Awarded to editors who rescue a stub or an article from deletion with excellent writing. Award introduced by Grutness and designed by Sango123 on April 13, 2005.
• You are a Ray of Sunshine! You know how sometimes you hate checking your watchlist, especially when you see that certain someone or an IP has edited your favorite articles? The Ray of Sunshine is bestowed on that person that, when you see their name at the top of your watchlist, you know that all is right with the world, you can relax, and do something besides cleaning up another mess. May be awarded to any person who consistently brightens your day, but especially where their involvement in something that is bothering you lightens your load. Thatcher131 13:47, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
• The Blurred Star Award. An award created from the existing Cscr-featured.png image that can be given to an editor who is near to making a FA article. Blurred the star significantly to show that it is still out of reach, like a mirage. Created by User:Spawn Man.
• The Bright Idea Award for editors that make commendable proposals and suggestions. Suggested by User:Gray Porpoise
• The Wise Man Award may be awarded to those who frequently answer questions asked at the reference desk. This award was introduced by Russian F on June 262006.
• The disco ball of knowledge certifies that editors are among the finest contributors in the world of Wikipedia, and help it to never stop turning. Created by Highway ^{Return to Oz...}
• A round of applause. For when someone does something that simply makes you want to stand up and clap. Created by User:Hiding on the 16:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC) in order to applaud User:Dragons flight.
• I hereby award you a tiger! For patient, controlled strength applied to a task. Best at 600 px size. It was devised for TonyTheTiger for his work on Campbell's Soup Cans by Tyrenius 00:22, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
• The Wise Old Owl Award – for when a few words of wisdom change the course of events for the better. First given to Yanksox. Devised by Tyrenius.
• Cherry Impact Event Award. For an outstanding contributor whose impact spreads. Introduced by Ling.Nut.
• Resist Hivethink Award. For those who... you know... resist hivethink. Introduced by Ling.Nut.
• {{WikiHaggis}}. For people who are spicy, a bit nutty, and resemble stuffed pig intestines! Introduced by Kennedy.
• The Coming of the Cavalry Award. For groups of three editors who help out in dire situations (such as difficult FACs) toward the end of the day with much appreciation. Introduced by Casliber (talk · contribs)
• The Good Friend Award is for people who have helped new/inexperienced Wikipedians to successfully create their first article, resolve an argument, etc. It can also be used to spread happiness to other users. :-)
• The Toy Block is awarded to administrators who accidentally block themselves. Introduced by Durova (talk · contribs)
• The Added Sauce award is awarded to editors who hunt down and add references to articles, as all our dishes are better with added sources (sauces). Introduced by Casliber (talk · contribs)
• The Wikipedia creativity award is awarded to creative Wikipedia users for their creativity. Introduced by User:Mmxx
• The Trash Sifter award is awarded to those who've successfully rescued an article from deletion and improved it to good article status. Introduced by User:Jclemens
• The Entrepreneur's Barnstar is given to recognize new editors who have made great strides to contribute to Wikipedia. Created by Quinxorin in June 2010. See Template:Entrepreneur's Barnstar for usage.
• The Oak Leaf and Acorn Hex Sign is given for edits that strengthen and reinvigorate a Wikipage, which may not qualify for a particular Barnstar. To award it see: Template:Personal User Award--the Oak Leaf and Acorn Hex Sign. Created September 2010 by ElijahBosley

• Wiki Lei Barnstar can be given to any Wikipedian to show appreciation and spread good cheer with the Polynesian concept of alofa/aroha/aloha. Also for editors contributing and improving topics on Polynesia and Oceania. Introduced November 2010 by Teinesavaii.
• The Check's in the Mail Barnstar. First given to Bridge Boy , who asked "When do I start getting paid for this?" Introduced by Dennis Bratland on May 13, 2012.
• The Resilient Barnstar The Resilient Barnstar may be given to any editor who learns and improves from criticisms, never lets mistakes or blunders impede their growth as Wikipedians, or has the ability to recover/finish with a smile.
• The GNU Barnstar The GNU Barnstar may be given to any editor who have helped the dissemination of free content, free software, and free licenses.
• The Wiki Warrior Star - given to editors who'll fight to the metaphoric death to defend any (constructive) edit made to Wikipedia (within wiki policy, of course). Introduced by Vjmlhds on March 22, 2014
• 100,000 Edit Star - any editor with 100,000 edits may display this star (see also userbox: Template:User 100,000 edits)
• 50,000 Edit Star - any editor with 50,000 edits may display this star
• 25,000 Edit Star - any editor with 25,000 edits may display this star
• 10,000 Edit Star - any editor with 10,000 edits may display this star
• Barnstar of Socratic Wisdom - for editors who have displayed great wisdom. Introduced by FourVIolas
• Golden Wiki Award created by from the Italian Wikipedia, originally for exceptional contributions to the wiki.
• Barnstar of Existence Awarded to users who make outstanding contributions to existence-related topics, or to show you appreciate a user's existence (after all, you can't contribute without existing). Introduced by ZLEA
• The Exploration of the Unknown badge is awarded to users who take the time to bravely explore new features, gadgets, tools, etc. that are in developmental stages, and provide constructive feedback. Introduced by User:AHollender (WMF)
• The Erasmus Star - Any editor who was registered on Wikipedia on January 15, 2015 when the Wikipedia community was collectively awarded the 2015 Erasmus Prize can display this star. Introduced by Vjmlhds
• The Ridiculous Star is awarded to anyone who has a ridiculous sense of humor that doesn't disrupt anyone or anything. Introduced by Contradistinguishing

• The Apple With A Bite Taken Out Of It may be awarded to individuals who contribute greatly to Apple Computer and Apple Macintosh-related articles. Introduced by grm_wnr on January 10, 2006.
• The Con Safos Jalapeño is used in awarding people Chicano awards as part of the Kindness Campaign.
• The Encephalon Cross For commendable contributions to medical articles. Introduced and designed by Encephalon.
• Created to recognize those editors who tirelessly contribute in a genuine fashion to Christianity-related articles. by Aiden
• The Comics Communication Barnstar: For speaking up for the truth, educating fellow editors, explaining project guidelines and goals, striving to resolve differences while keeping a level head, and generally facilitating communication about comics-related articles and between their contributors. Usage: See User:Doczilla/Template:Comicscom. Created by Doczilla.
• The WikiProject NASCAR Award shows the "never quit" spirit of NASCAR teams that we hope the project members exhibit. Introduced and designed by Royalbroil on 2 June 2006.
• The WikiProject Japan Barnsensu Award can be awarded to those who have made outstanding additions and/or improvements to Japan-related articles. Introduced by Nihonjoe, and designed by Tangotango on 28 July, 2006 as part of WikiProject Japan.
• The Swaminarayan Appreciation is awarded to those who make outstanding contributions to Swaminarayan related content, WikiProject Swaminarayan. Introduced on November 12008 by Around The Globe^{सत्यमेव जयते}
• The Endangered Language Immersion School Bus is available for anyone who works on endangered languages, or who can read the writing on this bus.
• The Karma Yogi Barnstar is to be awarded for significant contributions to articles about Krishna, Bhagavad Gita and related topics. See Template:The Karma Yogi Barnstar.
• The McLellan Quaich is awarded for outstanding contributions to Scottish coverage in Wikipedia. Suggested by Deacon of Pndapetzim in 2019, named after Angusmclellan, with the image selected by Cactus.man.

• The Vandal Whacking Stick is given to users who have been attacked, and didn't lose their cool. Image created by MathKnight and first given as an award by Essjay to Redwolf24.
• The Optimistic's Star is for those who have had to put up with so much but still believed that there was light at the end of the tunnel. Created by Leon2323. It may be handy to use the User:Leon2323/Optimistic template.
• The Abusive Admin Award can be awarded to admins who demonstrate a keen ability at offending or otherwise dominating vandals and trolls with an iron fist. A good indicator of eligibility for this award is a user page that has been repeatedly vandalized over the course of an admin's time on Wikipedia.
• The General Alexander Haig Medal of Honor is awarded to those exceptional individuals who take control. Introduced by Xiong

• The Barnstar EATEN BY A BEAR is awarded to any Wikipedian who says something very humorous and or random, thus cheering up fellow Wikipedians who read it. Introduced by Karmafist.
• The Public Domain Astronaut goes to anyone who helps Wikipedia by killing off copyvios. Introduced by Redwolf24.
• The Order of the Flaming, Dancing Hellpot is awarded by victims of egregious and malacious harrassment or vandalism, to those sending the offenders where they belong. It was first awarded on 9/11/05 by paul klenk to Bishonen, who declared it a "rockin'" and "prestigious" award (which is actually true). (The photo is of a float in New York's Village Halloween Parade.)
• The Babel Award for Translation by paul klenk. Inspired by the many translations provided to paul klenk by Wikipedians all over the world, of his many user pages in non-English wikis, some translated minutes after being first created (e.g., de:User:Paul Klenk). Click on photo to enlarge.
• The Barn Award is awarded by Karmafist to anyone who he votes support for in WP:RFA, since administratorship is a great responsibility, and taking it on should be rewarded with something bigger than just a star on a barn, it deserves the entire barn. Please feel free to copy this tradition.
• The Son of Jimbo Award is given to anyone who does an excessive amount of tasks in advancing Wikipedia or basically has the last name of Wales. The award was introduced by Karmafist.
• The Thinking Outside the Box award, for users with an unorthodox take on policy or project, but which works. Introduced by Smurrayinchester.
• The Cluestick is awarded to people who, in fact, have a clue. Introduced by Katefan0. The award may be presented using Template:Cluestick.
• The Rouge Admin award is granted to any administrator who has been called a rouge administrator. Introduced by Katefan0.
• The Tightrope Award for dangerous balancing acts represents the amazing Charles Blondin carrying Jimbo Wales safely across the Niagara Falls, and was created by Bishonen for SlimVirgin.
• The laughpoint is awarded to users that make one laugh. Introduced by User:Extreme Unction.
• The Barnstar Star is awarded to users who are bold in creating awards for the community. Introduced by cyde, designed by Sango123 and WillMak050389. Was re-done by F9T.
• The Enigma Rotor is awarded to those who solve difficult problems on Wikipedia.
• The Admin's Mop & Bucket is for the newly created administrators.
• The Lots of Barnstars Award is for the person who has lots of barnstars.
• The Welcomer's Barnstar. Designed for those special Wikipedians who accept newcomers with open arms, exhibiting endless reserves of patience and kindness, and helping Wikipedia become a better place. Introduced by Master of Puppets.
• The re-use of image as an award to reward someone for creating a particularly good image by describing it as some award or another and slapping it on their userpage. Introduced by User:BD2412.
• The Sherlock Holmes Deductive Reasoning Award is awarded for complex investigations that sleuth down sneaky vandals. First created by WAS 4.250 for Durova.
• The Mop and Bucket Manual is awarded to thank coaches for their participation in the admin coaching program
• The struck through barnstar goes to Wikipedians who retract their words at the right times and for the right reasons.
• The Reformed Barnstar can be given to users who have rectified their originally-unpleasant behavior. Introduced by Merovingian.
• The Lemmy Kilmister Public Service Award for outstanding contribution to rock and roll related material. Originally created by Hamster Sandwich. Updated by DeadEyeArrow.
• The Curveball Award for asking a particularly curly but probably necessary and altogether thought-provoking and enlightening question, first thought up by casliber after witnessing one in an interesting RfB...
• The Purple Heart Barnstar. Use this to recognize someone who's user page or user talk page has been notably vandalized (usually at least 20 times). Brought to you by GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
• Gears of Loud is a giant machine that makes a lot of noise. It is so big that people do not see it up close. This close-up shot of the Gears of Loud is awarded to people who have no chance of seeing this machine up close otherwise—in other words, to people who keep cool and stay the heck away from the most dangerous parts of the pointless drama wars. Beware this machine! Stay ever vigilant, as you have before, lest the Gears may crush you! (Brought to you by wwwwolf (barks/growls))
• The Ka-Ching Ka-Ching Citation of the Monied and Munificent Order of Wikipedian Patrons of Civilization barnstar created by Noroton and under the authority invested in him by his wallet awarded to EconomicsGuy for having coughed up his own $$$ to expose a faulty reference hiding behind a $10 wall on an articles for deletion debate. A pimped out version of a similar barnstar awarded to Noroton for a simular deed. Live long and prosper! We salute you!
• The John Winthrop Award This award recognizes outstanding citizens who vigourously and harshly suppress non-Protestants and non-conformists ( Note the irony of the terminology . ) . Frank Trampe established this award in 2008 by giving it ( posthumously ) to John Hathorne . Past awardees , Mayflower descendants , John Calvin , and Jesus can also give the award at their discretion .
• The Fearsome Jursassic thesaurus thanks Wikipedians for great copyediting.
• The Bulletproof Barnstar is awarded in recognition of real-life risks taken by Wikipedians to create content for the encyclopedia. This usually comes in the form of photography for topics like riots, wars, disasters, etc., taken up-close and often without any of the protections afforded to members of the traditional media. First awarded to User:Takeaway on May 20, 2010.
• The Patience is a Virtue (Patience LP) Award is given to experienced Wikipedians who demonstrate continued patience when dealing with new editors and their endless questions (especially when in the Wikipedia IRC-Helpchat channel). Created by Shearonink and first awarded to Chzz.

The Builder, Cool, Veneration of Virtue Award

Some Wikipedian has earned a Cernen's Plusbox for doing something witty, brilliant, or otherwise noticable, and if Cernen sees it, will award a plusbox, but this award is otherwise inherently worthless.
