This list started with all authors on Project Gutenberg as of 2005-09-27. As we add PG links to existing WP articles and to new articles when they are created, we remove the links from the list.

• Project Gutenberg links to existing Wikipedia articles about an author. This is great, and we should thus strive to cover each of their authors.
• For help on how to write biographies, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography.
• We should link back from our article to the Project Gutenberg page of the author; after all, there is at least one public domain text of this author available!
  Please make sure an author is linked back to PG before removing the entry from the list!
  • Use {{gutenberg author | id=First_Last | name=First Last}} for a link to all the works in PG of that author (Preferred.)
  • If the author is notable only for a single work, or for a WP page about a single work, use {{Gutenberg|no=NUMBER|name=BOOKNAME}}. However, If the author wrote other works that may eventually be added to Project Gutenberg, please use the author link instead.
• When adding a PG link, you may wish to also also add a {{Worldcat id}} link to resources in physical libraries.

• The main list is in pages 1-13.
• We also maintain two lists for incomplete cases. When you see a blue link in the main list pages, you may remove it if the WP article really is for the PG author, and it is linked to PG, and you do not think it is at risk of deletion.
  • If the article is a at risk of deletion and you cannot make it better, link it to PG anyway, and then move the blue link to the "At risk" page. It may be at risk because it is a minimal stub or because it is an orphan.
  • If the blue link is not for the PG author, move it to the "Problem bluelinks" page.
