• composers, lyricists and librettists
• directors and choreographers
• producers
• performers
• genres (rock musical, Edwardian musicals, etc.)
• songs from musicals and cast albums

Exclusions

Articles pertaining to:

• theatres, ie venues - these form part of the WikiProject Theatre
• musical films – these are covered by the very large and active WP:FILM project.
• operettas - these form part of the WikiProject Opera, although if it is a grey area, there is nothing wrong with categorizing the work in both places. Some of the English-language operettas, however, have been categorized as musicals, such as some of those by Herbert, Lehar, Friml and Romberg.
• Gilbert and Sullivan - these are covered by WikiProject Gilbert and Sullivan
• operas - these are covered by WikiProject Opera
