The Core Contest—Wikipedia's most exciting contest—will take place this year from April 15 to May 31. The goal: to improve vital or other core articles, with a focus on those in the worst state of disrepair. Editing can be done individually, but in the past groups have also successfully competed. There is £300 of prize money divided among editors who provide the "best additive encyclopedic value". Signups are open now. Cheers from the judges, Femke, Casliber, Aza24.
If you wish to start or stop receiving news about The Core Contest, please add or remove yourself from the delivery list.

Hello! On behalf of American businessman Richard M. Schulze, I've submitted an edit request to update the poorly written Philanthropy section of his biography. None of the claims I've proposed are contentious, but I do not edit the main space because of my conflict of interest.
Are any WikiProject Biography members able to take a look at the edit request? Thanks in advance for any feedback or article updates! Inkian Jason (talk) 13:51, 5 March 2024 (UTC)
The request has been reviewed. Inkian Jason (talk) 14:55, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
ODNB Life of the day 19 March 2024
Every day an ODNB life is made available to the public for a few days. I've been getting these emails for years, and rarely have I had time to benefit from them, I thought I might share them here.
Today it is: [Sir Peter Gordon Masefield (1914–2006). Our article is Peter Masefield. Please respect Oxford's copyright, if you use information from their article to improve ours, and please cite ODNB where appropriate.
All the best: RichFarmbrough 17:10, 19 March 2024 (UTC).
I propose merging Wikipedia:Living People Patrol (long defunct) into this group. Specifically, if nobody objects, I would like to WP:MOVE that page to Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Living People Patrol (along with the talk page's archive) and then redirect the (currently blank) talk page here. That way, if anyone goes looking for help, they'll have a chance of finding it.
Please let me know if you think this is a bad idea.
Since there have been no objections either here or there, I'm doing this now. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:20, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Karl Lagerfeld edit requests
I'm Marina and I work for the KARL LAGERFELD brand. I have several pending edit requests for the Karl Lagerfeld (the man) Wikipedia article. You can see these requests at the Talk page. Because this WikiProject is listed as a category for that article, I'm hoping that editors here might have an interest in reviewing these requests. Updating the Evan G. Greenberg article
Hi editors, this is Brooke, an employee from Chubb Limited. I'm here today because I've posted a (rather large) edit request to Mr. Greenberg's Talk page to revise the current Career section, which is outdated and lacks tons of solid sources I found. If any editors here have any interest in evaluating this request, I would deeply appreciate it. And, just to be clear, I've disclosed my COI on my user page for those who are curious. Former finnish SOF soldier and serial entrepreneur Janne Lehtonen
There is a draft for the person in question (Janne Lehtonen).
Janne has served 10+ years in the finnish Navy's special operation forces. He was notably one of the first-ever operator in the unit, along side his fellow collegues of the reality TV programme Erikoisjoukot.
He is also a firefighter, paramedic and serial entrepreneur. I hope someone views this draft of notable Finnish person!
Deletion nomination for Category:American politicians who are the sole member of their party in statewide office
I am commenting to appeal for Keep votes on this deletion entry for Category:American politicians who are the sole member of their party in statewide office. I believe it is an extremely obvious measure of the unique identity of politicians who are incentivized to be "mavericks," as well as electoral geography and power balance. Much of the reasoning for deletion relies on the nominator's as-yet unsourced insistence that categories must permanently apply to pages, rather than be subject to current events or changes in employment, like elections. Others have simply declared this plainly unique status to be non-defining. The Delete voters have been largely unresponsive, and even when they do respond, have been argumentatively selective and engage in sophistry. Thank you very much for your consideration. 1Matt20 (talk) 18:45, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi, there is an edit request to update the article on OKCupid co-founder Sam Yagan at Talk:Sam_Yagan#Request_to_add_Corazon_Capital_subsection. I made this request on behalf of Yagan through my work at Corazon Capital. Thank you for considering. CBCorazon (talk) 13:44, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Does "girlfriend"/"boyfriend" count as "partner"?
I've edited Gaten Matarazzo infobox to remove the listing of Amy Yu as his "partner" (but I left in the "personal life" item about their relationship). The cited article describes her as his "girlfriend". Does Wikipedia have standard practice/criteria for what qualifies as "partner"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bsammon (talk • contribs) 16:04, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
