Wolfgang Frey (born 14 August 1942 in Rechberghausen) is a German bryologist and phytogeographer.[1]

In 2007, a Festschrift was published in honor of Frey.[2]

The standard author abbreviation W.Frey is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[3]
