Alvir (Persian: الوير)[lower-alpha 1] is a village in, and the capital of, Alvir Rural District of Kharqan District, Zarandieh County, Markazi province, Iran. The previous capital of the rural district was Razeqan.[4] The population speaks the Alviri-Vidari language.[citation needed]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 435 in 167 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 364 people in 145 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 578 people in 213 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
