Christopher Andrés Álvarez García (born 16 September 2001), known professionally as Cris MJ, is a Chilean singer and songwriter. He gained international prominence for his hit single "Una Noche en Medellín" and would eventually collaborate with Standly on "Marisola", which had considerable success and a remix with Duki and Nicki Nicole. He would also collaborate with FloyyMenor on "Gata Only", which saw worldwide success on song charts.

Álvarez was born in La Serena, Chile on 16 September 2001.^[1] He began his musical career as a singer by releasing several singles and collaborations with other artists in the Chilean urban music scene. He announced that he would release his debut studio album in 2021, and released other singles including "Locura y Maldad" and "Los Malvekes".^[2]

In January 2022, he released the single "Una Noche en Medellín", which went viral on the social platform TikTok and appeared on song charts.^[3] In February, he performed at the Summer Fest 2022,^[4] later embarking his first headlining tour, with dates set in Mexico and among other countries.^[5]

After the success, he would release other collaborations, including "Yo No Me Olvido" with Gotay,^[6] "Sextime" with Polimá Westcoast and Young Cister^[7] and "Me Arrepentí" with Ak4:20 y Pailita,^[8] later becoming the most streamed Chilean artist on Spotify.^[9]

In 2 February 2024, Álvarez collaborated with FloyyMenor on the single "Gata Only", after he reached out to him proposing that he'd be part of it.^[10][11] The song appeared on international song charts, including the Billboard Hot 100.^[12]
