Description British Railways Delivery Truck London 1962.jpg |
London, 1962. Finding this 35mm Kodachrome slide that I took with a Fujica during an October visit to London triggers memory of being interested in the small tractor and the large trailer. I note from the photo that it was parked at St. Pauls Corner and St. Pauls Churchyard. Truck is a Scammell Scarab marked "British Railways". In the background is a shop with window signs reading "High Class Shoe Repairs" "One Day Service" "Long Sole Work a Specialty" "While You Wait". The front of trailer trailer reads " H Depend on Harwich Hook route", advertising the "Sealink" British Rail ferries route from Harwich, Essex to The Hook, Netherlands. |
