Summary
Description Ferrimagnetism - magnetic moment as a function of temperature.svg |
English:
A chart of the magnetic moment of a ferrimagnetic material as the function of temperature.
Below the magnetization compensation point, the material exhibits ferrimagnetism and has a total magnetic moment with one sub-lattice dominant over the other (➀). At the compensation point the magnetic components cancel each other and the total moment is zero. Above the compensation point, the system has a net moment with the other sub-lattice dominant (➁). Above the Curie point, material loses magnetism (➂).
