James Mattis, the commander of U.S. Central Command, salute as the colors are presented during the change of command ceremony for U.S. Forces-Iraq in Baghdad, Iraq, Sept. 1, 2010. Army Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III relieved Army Gen. Raymond T. Odierno of command of the remaining forces in Iraq. The ceremony marks the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the start of Operation New Dawn, during which U.S. forces move from combat operations to stability operations.
