Object history |
English:
The painting was commissioned by the Polish-Lithuanian king Sigismund III Vasa, through his agent at the Brussels' court of Archduke Albert VII. Later it was taken to France by John II Casimir and sold on auction after his death in 1673. The work was first mentioned in the inventories of the Sassenage Castle in 1820.
