This
religion map
image could be re-created
using
vector graphics
as an
SVG
file
. This has several advantages; see
Commons:Media for cleanup
for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{
vector version available
|
new image name
}}
.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “MuslimDistribution3b.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva ) does not need the new image name parameter. |

If possible, please upload a PNG or SVG version of this image without
compression artifacts
, derived from a non-JPEG source (or with existing artifacts
removed
). After doing so, please tag the JPEG version with
{{Superseded|NewImage.ext}}
and remove this tag. This tag should not be applied to photographs or scans. If this image is a diagram or other image suitable for
vectorisation
, please tag this image with
{{Convert to SVG}}

Summary
Approximate map of the distribution of the four Sunni "madhhab" schools of legal interpretation.
Based on the public domain image at File:Muslim_distribution.jpg at wikipedia.org. A CIA-created, public domain map taken from http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/world_maps/muslim_distribution.jpg .
This map could be improved by use of a SVG file, such as en:File:Muslim_distribution.svg (the converted SVG version done by user Zipola) as a possible candidate, with the drawback of the text being a bit unclear.
I created the layer containing the grouping of the extent of the Sunni schools of law based on Wikipedia articles; when I was in doubt about the extent, I placed a dotted line to indicate my doubt about the extent.
Public criticisms
2008 on February 25th : Ed Murphy at Condor’s Quill II in The most maritime of fiqhs “It’s not indicated on the map, but Kurds are Shafi too” it would be nice to indicate the Shafi rites in the Kurd areas. Also area “dividing eastern and western Yemen” sould probebly include all of Yemen for the Shafi.
2008 on April 2nd : On the Svenska muslimers forum are some questions about the correctness of this map, islampunkten informs there discussion.

Ég setti layer (glæru) yfir kort frá "United States Federal Government" ogsendi hér inn, glæran er mitt hugverk. Efni hennar er aðeins til að gefa hugmynd um dreifingu lögbóka múslimskra laga.
