Description Shellback Certificate for Robert C Fay aboard USS Diphda (AKA-59) on 28 August 1945.jpg |
English:
Crossing-The-Line Shellback Certificate for Ensign Robert Clovis Fay (Senior) aboard USS Diphda (AKA-59) on 28 August 1945. See [Line-crossing_ceremony] and [USS_Diphda_(AKA-59)]. This image was made by scanning the four quadrants of the 19 3/4 x 13 7/8 inch (503 x 353 mm) certificate at 600 dpi on a Xerox DocuMate 515, then stitching them together. Please ignore any seams, and the white tape at some of the edges.
Update: I had this 3/15/16 scan cleaned up by PhoJoe.com October 2017 for $100, including tip (PhoJoe.com, 5799 S. Main St. #67, Clarkston, Michigan 48347, [email protected]). They did a great job! See the earlier upload if you want to see the original image. They worked directly from this. Also see my page http://mikefay.info/wiki/index.php?title=Wikipedia_work |

Evidence: The license statement can be found online at: It's not my work but there will never be a license because my dad is dead. It's just his line-crossing certificate that I inherited. Ostensibly a U.S. Navy document, I suppose. He'd be tickled to have it online. |
