Summary
Description Shepard Hall.JPG |
English:
Shepard Hall, one of the main buildings of the City College of New York, is the centerpiece of the campus. It was modeled after a Gothic cathedral plan with its main entrance on St. Nicholas Terrace. It was named after Edward Morse Shepard (Class of 1869). He was instrumental in obtaining the St. Nicholas Heights site for the College. He also conceived the idea of the Great Hall, the building’s outstanding feature.
