Summary
Description Thermal Inversion in Urban Environment.png |
English:
Thermal inversions occur when there is a rapid rise of heat, leading to a block of hot air that traps the cool air underneath. Normally, hot air rises but due to the accelerated rise of heat from the asphalt, the heat does not rise. Because the cool air underneath cannon rise, the pollutants from cars and other emissions sources are also trapped with the cold air, resulting in the formation of smog.
