Summary
Description Tupolev Tu-4 01 red (10255123433).jpg |
Given the NATO codename 'Bull', the Tu-4 was a direct copy of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress. It first flew in 1947 and was the first Soviet strategic bomber. A total of 847 were built, some serving until the 1960's. There are three known survivors, two in China and this sole example in Russia. c/n 2805103. Russian Air Force Museum.
