OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO
First Lt. Charles Schuck fires an AIM-7 Sparrow medium range air-to-air missile from an F-15 Eagle here while supporting a Combat Archer air-to-air weapons system evaluation program mission. He and other Airmen of the 71st Fighter Squadron deployed from Langley Air Force Base, Va., to Tyndall AFB, Fla., to support the program.
Orignial description: "1st Lt. Charles Schuck, an F-15C Eagle pilot assigned to the 71st Fighter Squadron "Ironmen," Langley Air Force Base, Va., fires an AIM-7 Sparrow medium range air-to-air missile at an MQM-107E "Streaker" subsscale aerial target drone over the Gulf of Mexico while supporting a Combat Archer mission, Jan. 19, 2005. The unit was deployed to Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, to support Combat Archer Air-to-Air Weapons System Evaluation Program missions being hosted by the 83rd Fighter Weapons Squadron located at Tyndall. Over the two-week deployment, the unit fired AIM-120 Advanced medium range air-to-air missiles, AIM-7 Sparrow medium range air-to-air missiles, AIM-9 Sidewinder heat-seeking missiles and conducted dissimilar air combat tactics with F-16C Fightin Falcons and the F/A-22 Raptor.
