U.S. 5Th FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (June 5, 2010) Pakistani navy Surgeons and Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Nicholas Marcotte, assigned to the health services department aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), use a raven litter stretcher to transport Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class William West during a medical training exercise. Pakistani navy Surgeons from the Pakistani navy spent a week aboard Mesa Verde, where they shared medical information with the health services department. Mesa Verde is part of the Nassau Amphibious Ready Group supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
