Lycée français de Düsseldorf is a French international school in Düsseldorf. It serves maternelle (preschool) through lycée (senior high school) levels.The school was created in 1962, it is located in Düsseldorf, the capital of the most important Land in Germany: North Rhine-Westphalia.[1]

History

In 1962, at the initiative of a small group of parents, fifteen children are starting their first school year in a room located in the garden of the Consulate of France. This is the birth of the French school. In 1985, the school is the victim of an arson attack. The completely devastated buildings are demolished and the reconstruction begins very quickly. The city authorities support the school by alleviating considered. In 1994, school is open for high school students, with that decision the school builds a new building which has 8 classrooms and a laboratory. In 2022 the school celebrates its 60th anniversary.
