The Mozart Monument (German: Mozart-Denkmal) is a monument located in the Burggarten in the Innere Stadt district of Vienna, Austria since 1953.[1] It is dedicated to composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791).
This 7.5-meter-high statue was made by architect Karl König (1841–1915) and sculptor Viktor Tilgner (1844–1896) and was unveiled at Albrechtsplatz (today Albertinaplatz ) on April 21, 1896,[2] five days after Tilgner died.[1] Tilgner's signature was completed with his death date.[3]
