The Pittsburgh Steelers subproject is a part of the NFL WikiProject which organizes information related to the National Football League (NFL). The Steelers subproject organizes articles concerning the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In 2009 the Steelers became the first team to have won six Super Bowl championships. The Steelers have a proud tradition of strong fan support, with all football games played in Pittsburgh having been sold out since 1972—over 300 consecutive games. The team competes in the AFC North division of the NFL.

The Steelers subproject was formed in December 2007 and has steadily increased in members and activity. If you are interested in joining please add your name to the Participants section below. If you have any questions you are encouraged to ask them on the discussion page.

Promote the project

• Join this project! Add yourself to the list, and add the userbox to your page, to advertise the project to people who happen to pass by.
• Invite people to the project – drop a note on the user talk page of editors working on Pittsburgh Steelers topics who aren't project members.
• Consider promoting the project via the Wikipedia Signpost WikiProject desk.

Improve the project

• Update the project pages, archive clutter, and make use of the latest automation available
• Consult the WikiProject Guide for ideas
• Come up with new ones

Use the project

• Monitor discussions on talk pages of articles covered by the project. Recent changes to the project's talk pages
• Create a new article.

• Expand some of the articles (check out Category:Stub-Class Pittsburgh Steelers articles or some of its subcategories), always respecting Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View Policy. Also, check the Wikipedia: Manual of Style.
• Add references to articles which need referencing improving. Biographies of living persons are a particular priority.
• Assess some of the Unassessed Pittsburgh Steelers articles, using the criteria at Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League/Pittsburgh Steelers subproject/Article Classification. Update the project banner on the relevant talk page.

• Check the talk page for requests for help.
