The race took place in the city of Sanremo, in Liguria, Italy, and the Italian pilot Sandro Munari won. The race took place in 39 races, covering the Italian Northwest, in Liguria. It started on the 2nd of October and ended on the 5th of October; the rally points were distributed as 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1; the distribution of points between brands was with Lancia gaining 20, Fiat gaining 15, Opel gaining 12 and Porsche gaining 8.
