Omega Pharma–Quick-Step's Tom Boonen won the race for a record-equalling fourth time,[1] after riding alone for 53 km (32.9 mi). With 56 km (34.8 mi) to go Boonen had made a breakaway with teammate Niki Terpstra, but the latter quickly proved unable to follow the Belgian. Boonen continued solo to win in Roubaix by over a minute and a half. The second place was settled in a sprint finish with Team Europcar's Sébastien Turgot just edging out Alessandro Ballan of BMC Racing Team.[2][3]
