  1. >Glover puts the French strength at 12,000 infantry and 3,300 cavalry [1]
  2. The four infantry divisions had a strength of 22,000 on 19 December, the last date for which returns are available. There were considerable losses on the retreat to Corunna, so the best estimate is around 15,000 on the day of the battle [1]
