The Battle of Yarkhand (Chinese: 葉爾羌戰役) was a confrontation that took place in April 1934 at Yarkand, Xinjiang, After the Battle of Kashgar (1934), What was remaining of the First East Turkestan Republic was reestablished by Sabit Damolla and Khoja Niyaz at Yangi Hissar. Approximately 4 weeks before the Battle of Yangi Hissar, Khoja had come to an agreement with the Soviets that the republic will be dissolved. With this notice, he departed for Yarkhand and arrested Sabit while other prominent figures of TIRET fled. When the forces of Ma Zhongying arrived in Yarkhand in pursuit of the Khoja on April 20th, but was too late to accomplish anything of significance. [1]
