Eslamabad-e Gharb (Persian: اسلامآباد غرب and Kurdish: شاباد, romanized: Şabad), also Romanized as Eslāmābād-e Gharb; also known as Eslāmābād, Shāhābād, and Shāhābād-e Gharb,[3] is a city in the Central District of Eslamabad-e Gharb County, Kermanshah province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is the second largest city in the province and is known for its oak trees.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 89,430 in 20,956 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 94,699 people in 25,673 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 90,559 people in 26,503 households.[2]
