Further recognition, 2002-present
In 2002 the famous photographer Steven Meisel noticed Volodina and featured her on the cover of Vogue Italia. This cover launched her career and became famous. Volodina then got the nickname "Zhenya" which is known and Zhenial (genius).[4]
In the same year Volodina took part in the same Gucci campaign as the fellow supermodel Natalia Vodianova and got to open the Gucci fall/winter show in Milan.
Volodina was the "look", the "Femme Fatale", gentle but at the same time dangerous because of her dazzling beauty and this was exactly the image which Gucci was looking for.[4][3]
Volodina was also photographed by photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Irving Penn and Steven Klein and one of the reasons for her success were her posing skills in front of the camera.[3]
Since 2002, Volodina has worked with numerous fashion magazines such as Vanity Fair, Elle, Vogue, -I-D, Harper's Bazaar, Numero.
Yves Saint Laurent signed her for the cosmetics.
