Harry Clive Minnett OBE (12 June 1917 – 20 December 2003)[1] was an Australian physicist and radio engineer who, with Jack Piddington, co-discovered Sagittarius A*,[2] the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way, and played a leading role in building the Parkes Radio Telescope. Minnett was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1972, and elected a fellow of Australian Academy of Science in 1976.[3]
