Jirandeh (Persian: جيرنده and Tati: جیریندیه, Jirindih)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Amarlu District of Rudbar County, Gilan province, Iran.[4] It also serves as the administrative center for Jirandeh Rural District.[5] It is north of the Shahrood river in the Alborz (Elburz) mountain range. Its residents are Tat people and they speak the Tati language.[6][7]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,616 in 754 households.[8] The following census in 2011 counted 2,584 people in 819 households.[9] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,320 people in 791 households.[2]
