Clement Leslie Foxcroft^[1] was an Australian character actor with a career of over 50 years, working in all major facets of the industry from stage, radio, television and film.

Les Foxcroft was born in Fitzroy, Victoria, in circa. 1918/1919. His mother died when he was three and his father, who was South African remarried. He was wounded in Gallipoli. Foxcroft grew up in Geelong and left home at 15, then moved to Melbourne where he joined the New Theatre and took up acting. He served with the Air Force during World War II, after which he moved to Sydney and started working in radio and clubs. He later moved on to television with the Captain Fortune Show. His TV career continued in Brisbane and then back to Sydney, appearing in a large number of productions. He expanded into film, including a main role in The Roly Poly Man.^[1]
