"Luna" (English: "Moon") is a song by Colombian singer-songwriter Feid and American producer ATL Jacob from Feid's second extended play (EP), Ferxxocalipsis (2023). Salomón Villada (Feid) wrote the song, and Jacob, Hendrix Smoke, EVRGRN, 254Bodi and FritzOnDaTrak produced it. It is a reggaeton song that fuses Latin rhythms with American hip hop, which relates the sad feeling of breaking up a relationship. The song was initially released on December 1, 2023 through Universal Music Latino, but later sent the track to Italian radio as a single on March 1, 2024. It is the second song on which Villada collaborates with an American hip hop producer after "Le Pido a Dios" with DJ Premier, so it was described as an effort to take the genre to the global level.

Commercially, "Luna" topped the charts in Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Spain, and it was Villada and Jacob's first top-five entry on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart. An accompanying music video, directed by Sebastián Sánchez and released on March 6, 2024 via YouTube, shows a couple in love who broke up their relationship, but the man tries to fix it by going back in time, but after being shot a second time he loses his memory when he survives. The video has been praised by the public and music critics, calling it a video of love and hope under adverse circumstances.

On December 2, 2022, Salomón Villada released through Universal Music Latino as a surprise release his first EP, Sixdo, a few months after releasing his fifth studio album, Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo, Te Pirateamos el Álbum.^[1][2] It includes "Le Pido a Dios" with the American hip hop producer DJ Premier, which was nominated at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Hip Hop Song.^[3][4] On August 24, 2023, he announced on Instagram his sixth studio album, Mor, No Le Temas a la Oscuridad, and its track listing after the release of its single, "Ferxxo 151", and released it later on September 29.^[5][6] Continuing its end-of-year tradition from Sixdo, on November 29 of the same year, he announced his second EP, Ferxxocalipsis, as a surprise release and sharing that "I want you to enjoy it as it is, during Ferxxo's favorite month!! I'm thankful to everyone that was a part of this, Colombia has so much to show and this is just another piece of that!!!" [sic];^[3][6] he also revealed its track listing, where "Luna" is placed at number six.^[7][8][9] Universal Latino released both the album and the song on December 1, but later sent the track to Italian radio as a single on March 1, 2024.^[9][10]

On April 9, 2024, Villada explained on social media that the song was inspired by a day when he was in Madrid "lying in bed, without a shirt, without bathing and watching the moon through the window."^[11] According to the liner notes of Ferxxocalipsis, Villada wrote the song, while ATL Jacob, Hendrix Smoke, EVRGRN, 254Bodi and FritzOnDaTrack produced it, with Jacob being the only one credited as lead artist for background vocals.^[12] It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Wain at Art & Music Studios in Milan, Italy and 24k Mastering.^[12] Lyrically, El Colombiano's Jaime Horacio Arango Duque said that the song "relates the sad feeling that appears when a woman leaves the relationship to go with another person."^[8] Rolling Stone's Valentina Villamil and El Tiempo's Lina Hernández Serrano described it as part of an album that maintains the unmistikable reggaeton sound of the Colombian, which "fuses the Latin rhythms with the American hip hop".^[6][13] Billboard Argentina called it an effort to "take American hip hop to the global level."^[14]

"Luna" topped national charts in Bolivia,^[16] Colombia,^[17] Costa Rica,^[18] Ecuador,^[19] Paraguay^[20] and Peru,^[21] and reached the top 10 of singles charts in El Salvador (2),^[22] Chile (3),^[23] Honduras (3),^[24] Nicaragua (3),^[25] Panama (3),^[26] Uruguay (4),^[27] Argentina (7),^[28] Guatemala (7)^[29] and Dominican Republic (9).^[30] In Spain, it topped the national chart and received a 3x Platinum certification from the Productores de Música de España (PROMUSICAE).^[31]

In the United States, the song peaked at number three on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.^[32] On May 4, 2024, it climbed one spot at the top of the Latin Airplay chart due to an increase of 15% to 10.73 million audience impressions in the country, being Jacob's first number one and Villada's seventh number one on the chart.^[33] It also climbed one spot to number eight on the Hot Latin Songs chart in the same week, despite a decrease of 8% to 3.5 million streams.^[33] The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the single 4× Platinum, which denotes 240,000 units based on sales and track-equivalent on-demand streams according to Latin criteria.^[34]

The song debuted at 184 at the Billboard Global Excl. US chart for the week ending December 16, 2023.^[35] On January 20, 2024, it jumped 13 spots to number 10 on Global Excl. US, being a new entry at the top-ten on the chart with The Weeknd, Jennie and Lily-Rose Depp's "One of the Girls" due to an increase of 20% to 30 million streams outside the United States compared to the previous week.^[15] Two weeks later, the song climbed three spots to number four, with streams increasing 11% to 41.5 million, making it his first top-five entry on the chart.^[36]

After constant request from his fans, Villada released a music video for "Luna" via YouTube on March 6, 2024.^[37][38][39] After the release, he thanked his fans "for taking this song so far, we made this video thinking of you, we gave it all the love possible."^[37] Sebastián Sánchez directed the video, and Marcello Peschera served as director of photography.^[37][39] The video received positive comments from public, specifically for its plot, and Infobae's Lina Muñoz Medina described that its plot "addresses the theme of love and hope under adverse circumstances, generating significant emotional resonance among viewers."^[37][38] The video begins by portraying the singer running through the desert and singing to the song along with Jacob around a car. A woman is found in her house and hires three gang members to shoot her partner starring Villada, but time repeats and the man tries to fix things with her. The same gang members shoot him again and the man survives, but loses memory of his girlfriend in the hospital.

In 2024, Villada published via Instagram an acoustic version for "Luna" without voice editing.^[40] He performed the song live for the first time in his shows at the Lollapalooza Chile, Lollapalooza Argentina and Festival Estéreo Picnic.^[41][42][43] It was included on the set list of his headlining concert tour, Ferxxocalipsis World Tour (2024).^[44]
