Mihaela Valentina Cambei (born 18 November 2002)[1] is a Romanian weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 49 kg event at the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships held in Yerevan, Armenia.[2] She also won the gold medal in her event at the 2024 European Weightlifting Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Career

In 2018, Cambei won the bronze medal in the 48 kg event at the Summer Youth Olympics held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[3][4][5]

At the 2019 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships held in Bucharest, Romania, she won the silver medal in the women's junior 49 kg event in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total.[6] In 2021, Cambei won the bronze medal in the women's 49 kg event at the 2021 European Weightlifting Championships held in Moscow, Russia.[7] She also won the silver medal in her event at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.[8]

Cambei won the gold medal in her event at the 2022 European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships held in Durrës, Albania.[9]

Cambei won the silver medal in the women's 49 kg Snatch event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia.[10][11] She won the gold medal in the women's 49 kg event at the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships held in Yerevan, Armenia.[2][12] She also won the gold medals in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk events.[12] Cambei won the bronze medal in the women's 49 kg Snatch event at the 2023 World Weightlifting Championships held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[13]
