City in Ilam province, Iran


Musian (Persian: موسيان), also Romanized as Mūsīān, Mūseyān, and Mūsīyān; also known as Mīsīan and Tepe Mīslan,[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Musian District of Dehloran County, Ilam province, Iran. The city is largely populated by Lurs with a significant Arab minority.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,571 in 491 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,577 people in 564 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,459 people in 642 households.[2]

Language

It is a majority Luri speaking village town, about a quarter of the population speaks Arabic.[7]
