City in Fars province, Iran


Nowdan (Persian: نودان)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in, and the capital of, Kuhmareh District of Kuhchenar County, Fars province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,589 in 581 households, when it was in the former Kuhmareh District of Kazerun County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,574 people in 669 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,892 people in 841 households.[2]

In 2018, Kuhmareh Rural District, Somghan Rural District, Nowdan, and Qaemiyeh were separated from the county in the establishment of Kuhchenar County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Qaemiyeh as its capital.[4]
