Portugal and Venezuela meet regularly in the Ibero-American Summit and the Venezuela-Portugal Mixed Commission of Bilateral Monitoring created in 2008.^[1] Economic, diplomatic and friendship ties between Venezuela and Portugal developed significantly during Chávez presidency.
