Rajiv Jain is an Indian politician affiliated with Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the State Vice president of Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryana. From 1996 to 1999, he was the Media advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Bansi Lal.[1] From 2018 to 2019, he served as the Media advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar.[2]

Career

Jain began his career in journalism in 1986 by launching a fortnightly magazine. He subsequently worked for newspapers such as Veer Arjun, Dainik Jagran and Rashtriya Sahara.[1]

In 1994, he joined the Haryana Vikas Party (HVP), which was formed by Bansi Lal. He was the general secretary of Haryana Vikas Party from 1993 till 2005.[3] Rajiv Jain served as the media advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Bansi Lal, from 1996 to 1999 during the HVP-BJP coalition government.[1]

Later when HVP merged with the Indian National Congress, he joined BJP and was appointed as the Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryana's vice president.[1] He was also appointed as the State Media Incharge of the BJP. In April 2018, he was appointed as the media advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar.[4]

Jain was appointed as the chairman of the Vimukt, Nomadic, Semi-Nomadic and Tapriwas Advisory Committee, which the state government of Haryana constituted.[5][6]

In October 2021, Rajiv Jain was elected as the president of Haryana Pradesh Vaishya Mahasammelan, succeeding former Gurgaon MLA Umesh Aggarwal.[7] Additionally, he serves as the National Vice president of the Bhartiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal.[8]

Personal life

He hails from Sonipat, Haryana. He holds a B.Com degree. His wife, Kavita Jain, is a former MLA from Sonipat and served as a cabinet minister in Manohar Lal Khattar's government.[9]
