Proposed UK housing legislation
The Renters (Reform) Bill is a proposed Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom introduced by the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, on 17 May 2023. The legislation proposes ending the no-fault eviction of tenants, as well as making it easier for landlords to evict antisocial tenants.[1]
The Bill passed third reading in the House of Commons on 24 April 2024.[2]
The Bill was then introduced to the House of Lords by Baroness Scott of Bybrook.
