S.R. Lakha

S. R. Lakha, IAS (Retd), is the former Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University.[1][2][3] He is the brother of the late Harbhajan Lakha, Bahujan Samaj Party's leader. Prior to serving as Vice Chancellor, Lakha served in civil service positions, including Principal Secretary and chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.[4][5]

His appointment as Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission was challenged in the High Court, which filed a public interest litigation (PIL).[6] His appointment led the Mayawati government to face criticism for favoring Dalits for high-profile positions.[7]

Controversy

Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram accused S. R. Lakha and his brother of corruption. Deceased Member of Parliament Satnam Singh Kainth demanded a CBI inquiry into the charges.[8]
