Sangaram Jangid, known as S. R. Jangid, is the former[1] Director General of Police of Tamil Nadu.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Jangid's contributions to law enforcement were recognized with numerous awards, including the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. the Indian Police Medal for Distinguished Service.[8][9][10]

Operation Bawaria

Operation Bawaria In January 2005, after the murder of AIADMK MLA Sudarsanam from Gummidipoondi, then Tamil Nadu Director General of Police S.R. Jangid took charge of Operation Bawaria in a mission to dismantle the notorious gang. Jangid, accompanied by his team, planned the operation, employing advanced tracking techniques and intelligence gathering.[11]

In 2017, H. Vinoth directed Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, a Tamil film based on S. R. Jangid and this case.[12]
