Senapati fortress was built in 1700 A.D. by Senapati of Chhatrasal Bundela on a hill at the western end of the city at Kulpahar. This fort was demolished by Britishers in 1804 A.D. Commander Raiman Singh Dauwa is a brave man whose stories of bravery are told even today. Maharaja Chhatrasal had given the title of (Khanderai) to Raiman Singh.[1]
